Khaberni - Fuad Duweiri, the head of the Jordanian Contractors Syndicate, revealed strict measures taken by the syndicate to curb violations within the sector, especially concerning the phenomenon of contract forgery and its nominal sale, confirming that several involved parties have been referred to the judiciary.
Duweiri stated that the syndicate detected illegal practices related to the sale of "nominal contracts", pointing out that during the past six months, four forgery cases were referred to the public prosecutor, all of which were concentrated in a single province within the central region of the Kingdom.
He mentioned that the syndicate is preparing to launch an electronic platform for citizens before the construction phase, enabling them to directly choose a classified engineer, without intermediaries or brokers, aiming to eliminate the phenomenon of phantom contracts and enhance transparency in transactions.
Duweiri explained that the syndicate recently made fundamental amendments to its regulatory systems and internal instructions, which stipulated that the contractor must actually be practicing the profession, alongside updating classifications and launching a readiness exam to ensure the competence of workers in the sector. He noted that the syndicate activated its inspection department, in coordination with the "National Building" program, to monitor the implementation of projects and control any field violations, confirming that the upcoming phase will witness tighter control and stricter law enforcement.
