Khaberni - Media reports have mentioned that Erling Haaland's name has returned to the forefront of the European scene again, indicating that he might be the most notable deal next summer.

The Fútbol Fichajes account on X clarified that the Norwegian star prefers to move to Real Madrid over Barcelona, if he decides to leave Manchester City in the coming phase.
The account added, "It seems that the race between the two Spanish giants to sign one of the world's top scorers has actually started before the opening of the summer transfer window of 2026."

Further, "Real Madrid plans to finance the major deal by selling their Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior to one of the Saudi clubs for about 200 million euros, an amount that is likely to cover the largest part of Haaland's transition, who is still under a long-term contract with Manchester City."

Real Madrid officials believe that signing Haaland would be the ideal step to complete the team’s new offensive project alongside Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham.

As for Barcelona, it too is looking to enter the competition despite the complex economic conditions the club is experiencing.

The account pointed out that under the management of Joan Laporta, signing Haaland is seen as a rare opportunity to rebuild the team’s offensive prestige after the expected departure of Lewandowski, especially with the desire of coach Hansi Flick to bring in a striker capable of leading the front line for many years. However, financial obstacles appear to be the biggest challenge for Barcelona in light of the salary cap restrictions imposed by the Spanish league.
