Khaberni - The General Manager of the National Center for Agricultural Research, Ibrahim Al-Rawashdeh, said that the selection committee for the National Olive Festival and the Rural Products Exhibition began its work after receiving 2040 requests through the platform dedicated to the festival.
Al-Rawashdeh added on Monday, in the presence of the festival manager, Abdullah Al-Qudah, and the members of the formed committee, that the committee adopted precise and transparent criteria that ensure fairness and equal opportunities among all applicants, explaining that the festival, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture in cooperation with the National Center for Agricultural Research, the Cooperative Institution, and the Agricultural Credit Corporation, is one of the most prominent agricultural and rural events in the kingdom, aiming to support farmers, empower rural women, and promote the quality of Jordanian olive oil and local rural products.
He pointed out that the committee formed to judge the applications adopted specific criteria that consider the quality of the products, adherence to health requirements, product authenticity, and fair geographical distribution among the provinces, ensuring balanced representation for all regions of the kingdom, noting that the priority in selection was given to participants from the categories benefiting from the National Aid Fund, people with special needs, beneficiaries of the Agricultural Credit Corporation, and women heads of households, in addition to successful entrepreneurial projects in charitable and cooperative societies.
He clarified that the committee insisted on selecting only one participant from each family and those with limited income, to support the resilience of the Jordanian rural woman, emphasizing that the 25th National Olive Festival provides an important marketing opportunity for rural producing families.
Al-Rawashdeh appreciated the efforts of all entities supporting the festival, affirming that preparations are underway to present a distinguished version that reflects the development of the olive sector in Jordan and the role of the National Center for Agricultural Research in supporting this vital sector, and the names of the participants will be circulated next week through a text message that will include the accepted individuals, those on the waiting list who could not be accepted, noting that the total number of individual applicants reached 128, the total number of applicants for booths was 66, the number of participants registered for the first time was 761, the number of participants registered who are beneficiaries of the Agricultural Credit Corporation was 16, the number of participants registered on the platform who receive from the National Aid Fund was 33, and the total number of registered from charitable societies and cooperatives was 54 societies.
