Khaberni - His Majesty King Abdullah II directed the government to establish a cable car project in Karak to enhance tourism and enrich the experiences of visitors to archaeological sites.
His Majesty noted during his meeting with dignitaries and representatives of the sons and daughters of Karak at Prince Faisal Sports City in the province on Sunday, that "good planning is always required, but what is more important is implementation on the ground."
In a speech delivered by Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan, he emphasized that the government's approach is based on fieldwork in compliance with the directives of His Majesty the King in the royal mandate letter, pointing out that the cabinet held its first session in Karak about a year ago, during which an agreement was reached with representatives of the elected bodies on the developmental vision for the province, the projects, programs, and priorities in each sector for the current and coming years, which are subject to ongoing monitoring to ensure their implementation.
Following the directives of His Majesty the King concerning the Karak cable car project, the Prime Minister stated that the government will complete the associated studies for the project to begin implementation in the near future, making it an important lift for tourism in the province, along with its role in linking the Karak Castle to broader developmental pathways that serve the local community.
The Prime Minister added that the government has completed development work on the Al-Qatrana Castle archaeological site to contribute to enriching and enhancing the tourism sector in Karak, as it has been linked to the tourism routes within an integrated project to develop castles and desert palaces.
The Prime Minister affirmed the government's ongoing work on several projects in Karak, in vital sectors in addition to tourism, such as industry, agriculture, health, transport, and education.
