Khaberni - A source from the Dutch immigration department stated that the Syrian artist Mu'ayn Abdel-Haq, known for his character Sateef the Blind in Bab Al-Hara, has filed a request not to be deported to Syria.
The Dutch authorities had detained Abdel-Haq due to his support for the former Syrian regime and decided to deport him to Syria.
However, Abdel-Haq - according to the Dutch source - requested not to be deported to Syria, and instead to be deported to Lebanon or Egypt.
Abdel-Haq justified his request by expressing fear for his life if returned to Syria.
The Dutch authorities have not yet issued their final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of the request.
