Khaberni - The council of ministers' decision, at dawn on Sunday, to restructure the vehicle sector came into effect, which includes subjecting all passenger cars, whether gasoline, hybrid or electric to the adopted Jordanian standard specifications, ensuring they comply with one of the technical legislation systems from Europe, America, the Gulf, or Saudi Arabia.
The decision also includes a ban on importing electric cars if they are more than 3 years old, including the year of clearance.
The decision also includes a prohibition on importing vehicles classified in the country of origin as "salvage or junk," such as those exposed to major accidents like fire, flooding, or those scrapped, etc., aimed at preserving public safety and improving the quality of imported vehicles and organizing their market.
The government confirmed that no vehicle will be allowed entry after this date unless these requirements are met.
These decisions are part of a comprehensive and structural reform package for the vehicle sector in Jordan, aimed at achieving balance and sustainability and ensuring compliance with approved technical standards and safety, according to the government.
