The ministry stated in an official statement received by the media that the police were able to arrest the suspect within a short time after the video spread, indicating that he was immediately detained and legal measures were taken against him, in accordance with the law.
The statement added that the security authorities provided medical and psychological care to the victim and referred her to the competent authorities to monitor her condition and ensure her safety, amid the widespread public sympathy that accompanied the case across platforms.
The Rusafa police command confirmed that the security forces will not be lenient with any act that violates human values or assaults family members, emphasizing that they will deter anyone attempting to practice domestic violence.
