Khaberni - The spokesperson for the General Security Directorate stated that a report was received by the operations room, indicating that (4) people were trapped inside a water well at a depth of (7) meters in the Alal area of Irbid Governorate.
He added that specialized teams from the East Irbid Civil Defense Directorate, supported by the International Search and Rescue Team and the police, immediately moved to the scene of the incident. All four individuals were extracted from the well and were transported to the hospital for treatment; however, two of them soon succumbed to their injuries, and an investigation into the incident was opened.
The Media Management and Community Policing urge citizens on the necessity to avoid lowering petroleum-powered water suction motors into wells, to ensure the suitability and quality of the ropes used in cleaning operations, and to seek help from specialized personnel in well-cleaning operations if necessary.
