Syria Decides to Close Shops at 9 PM in Damascus

Khaberni - The governorate of the Syrian capital, Damascus, has announced the commencement of a new policy that dictates the opening and closing times of shops, markets, and facilities in the city, according to the decision issued by the executive office of the Damascus Governorate Council.

According to "Syria TV", the decision states that the opening and closing times for shops and commercial markets (summer and winter) are from nine in the morning until nine in the evening, except on the weekend holiday.

The decision also specifies the operating hours for restaurants, cafes, confectioneries, nightclubs, gaming halls, internet cafes, and petrol stations, ensuring most activities conclude by midnight at the latest; however, restaurants are allowed to extend their hours until 1 AM on Thursdays and Saturdays.

The decision permits petrol stations to operate 24 hours a day and exempts some essential sectors such as industrial markets, the meat and vegetable market, and vendors in the wholesale market from early closure.
