Khaberni - - Attended by the Chairman of the Board of Arab Potash Company, Engineer Shahada Abu Hudaib, and the German Ambassador in Jordan, Dr. Bertram von Moltke, the company’s CEO, Dr. Maen Al-Nsour, and the CEO of CEC, George Engelmann, signed an engineering services agreement to execute the designs for the third cold crystallization plant, which is considered one of the most prominent components of the company's southern expansion project.
The signing ceremony was also attended by the Director of the Economic Department at the German Embassy, Mr. Guido Kemmerling, and several members of the executive management and directors at the Arab Potash Company.
This project is part of the company's ongoing efforts to increase its production of potash, as the new plant will increase the total production capacity by (1) million tons annually, by 30% by the end of the year 2030, enhancing the position of Arab Potash in the global fertilizer market.
The project also includes the construction of a new stacking plant, charging stations, and storage warehouses designed to be prepared for connection to the planned railway lines, which will link the company's factories in Ghor Al-Safi with its warehouses in Aqaba, contributing to the completion of the company's supply and export chains with high efficiency.
In this context, Engineer Shahada Abu Hudaib expressed his pride in signing this agreement with the German company CEC, stating that it represents a new qualitative step on the road to implementing the southern expansion project in Arab Potash Company, which was inaugurated by the Prime Minister Dr. Jaber Hassan to start its implementation in May of this year, which is considered one of the largest industrial projects in the kingdom.
Engineer Abu Hudaib added that this project embodies the company's commitment to enhancing its production capabilities and global competitiveness through investment in operational efficiency and adherence to the highest quality standards, noting that the company is continuing to implement its strategy aimed at maximizing the added value from national resources, and actively contributing to supporting the national economy and creating sustainable job opportunities.
Engineer Abu Hudaib confirmed that the company has succeeded in recent years in expanding its export markets, while maintaining its strong presence in traditional markets. The company has launched a series of development projects that have contributed to improving its operational efficiency and increasing production capacity, and thanks to these efforts, Arab Potash Company has established its position as a leading national edifice in the fertilizer and potash industry, and a main partner in supporting the national economy and developing the Jordanian industry at both regional and international levels.
On his part, the CEO of Arab Potash Company, Dr. Maen Al-Nsour, said that the signing of the engineering services agreement for the third cold crystallization plant lays the cornerstone in the journey of implementing the southern expansion projects in Arab Potash Company, and complements the long-term plan established since 2019 to increase potash production by 30% by the year 2030.
Dr. Al-Nsour explained that the new plant will create a qualitative shift in product quality thanks to its design based on the latest global technologies in crystallization, drying, and stacking processes, ensuring the production of high-purity potash to the highest specifications and according to quality standards.
According to Dr. Al-Nsour, the project will enhance the company’s ability to meet the demands of more stringent global markets and supports its orientation towards high-value-added derivative industries, in addition to contributing to the diversification of the company’s products and maximizing returns and achieving sustainable growth in export capabilities.
Dr. Al-Nsour confirmed that Arab Potash is continuing to implement its projects according to the highest environmental, technical, and operational sustainability standards, relying on the expertise of its Jordanian workforce and strategic partnerships with leading global companies.
