Details of the New Amendments to the Umrah Visa

Khaberni - Sources revealed that the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has made some amendments to Umrah visas, including canceling the visa after a period of 30 days from the date of issuance if the Umrah pilgrim has not entered Saudi territory.

It also mentioned that this decision will start being implemented from next week, where the validity period of the visa is reduced from three months to one month from the date of issue, while no change has occurred on the validity period of the stay after the Umrah pilgrim's arrival in Saudi Arabia, which remains the same at 3 months, according to the same sources, according to Alarabiya.net.

Ahmed Bajuaifer, advisor to the National Committee for Umrah and Visit, reads for "Alarabiya.net" the reality of the decision, which comes into effect next week, stating that it is part of the preparations of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah for the significant expected increase in the number of Umrah pilgrims, especially after the end of the summer season and the decrease in temperatures in Mecca and Medina, to ensure that large numbers of Umrah pilgrims do not accumulate at the same time in the two holy cities.

Earlier, since the announcement of the start of the new Umrah season, which began at the beginning of June, the issuance of Umrah visas for foreign pilgrims has exceeded the barrier of 4 million visas, according to exclusive information obtained by “Alarabiya.net”.

Thus, the current Umrah season achieves a record number in terms of the influx of foreign Umrah pilgrims in a period of no more than 5 months from the launch of the season compared to past seasons.
