Khaberni - His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Wednesday, examined the operations of the mobile amputee support units belonging to the Jordanian "Restore Hope" association, which were locally designed and developed to provide care and services for amputees.
During a meeting at Al Husseiniya Palace with those involved in developing and supervising these units, His Majesty listened to a briefing presented by the head of the association, Fawaz Shakaa, about the development of the operational mechanism of the support units.
Shakaa discussed the objectives of the support units, which include reaching patients isolated from healthcare and providing them with comprehensive medical and rehabilitative services related to prosthetics, under the supervision of a qualified medical team.
He mentioned that these units represent a medical and engineering achievement for Jordan, resulting from innovation in industrial design and digital health technologies.
The mobile amputee support units serve as a national model aiming to solidify Jordan's position as a regional hub for excellence in prosthetics and rehabilitation, through developing solutions that contribute to transforming humanitarian work into a sustainable model based on technology.
The "Restore Hope" association was launched last year as an initiative under royal directives to provide rapid medical support to amputees in Gaza, implemented in cooperation between the Royal Medical Services and the Hashemite Charitable Organization of Jordan, and its operations were expanded after its establishment.
