Khaberni - The concerned authorities in Irbid apprehended today, Tuesday, a sewage tanker caught in the act of dumping its load illegally into a sewer manhole, according to Irbid Governor Radwan al-Atoum.
Al-Atoum said today that based on the information received and the persistent and intensive follow-up by the relevant authorities, the authorities captured a sewage tanker while it was pouring out its contents into a household sewer manhole directly connected to the sewer network of Yarmouk Water Company.
Al-Atoum added that the surveillance and follow-up operations resulted in apprehending the driver as he was placing the "hose" inside the manhole and emptying the wastewater into it; he was immediately captured, affirming that legal and administrative measures will be strictly and necessarily taken against the homeowner and the tanker owner to ensure that such violations, which constitute a flagrant attack on the infrastructure and environment, do not recur.
The governor called on citizens to cooperate and report any illegal practices, emphasizing that the governorate and regulatory bodies will not relent in enforcing the law against anyone who dares to compromise public welfare and the safety of water and sewer networks.
