Khaberni - A specialist doctor has disclosed that Barcelona star Lamine Jamal is only performing at half his real level on the field due to a thigh injury, medically known as "painful pubis," which greatly hinders his movement and shooting ability.
Dr. Pedro Luis Ribol, a well-known sports trauma specialist, explained that this chronic injury causes continuous pain in the pubic area, limiting Jamal's explosiveness and speed, which are essential features of his playing style.
The doctor noted that the condition was clearly visible during Barcelona's loss to Real Madrid (1-2) at the Santiago Bernabeu Clasico last Sunday.
Dr. Ribol stated in comments to the Spanish program "El Larguero": "It's really a difficult injury to treat. It features pain that reduces the player's ability to move and shoot by approximately 50 percent, which is exactly what we observed in the Clasico."
He added: "Jamal hardly launches shots towards the goal, struggles with movement, and is seen constantly stretching his body trying to ease the pain."
Ribol clarified that Lamine Jamal suffers from a "debilitating" injury that significantly affects his physical performance.
He continued, "This injury allows him to participate, but it keeps him far from his optimal level and significantly weakens his performance."
Ribol confirmed that the injury does not involve structural damage to the joints, but healing could take weeks or even months if not managed carefully.
He noted that Barcelona is currently working to reduce training and physical burdens on Jamal to prevent worsening his condition, amid growing concerns within the club and the Spanish national team about the impact of this injury on his participation in crucial matches.
