Khaberni - The implementation of winter time in Egypt officially begins at dawn on Friday, October 31, 2025, by setting the clock back 60 minutes according to Law No. 34 of 2023.
The Egyptian cabinet announced the start of winter time from the last Friday of October 2025, in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 34 of 2023, regulating the mechanism of applying summer and winter time, which was ratified by President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on April 16, 2023.
Under the referred law, the clock will be set back by 60 minutes at the end of the last Thursday of October 2025, which falls on October 30, 2025, officially starting the winter time from the morning of Friday, October 31, 2025 across the republic.
The state has chosen Friday as a fixed date to implement both summer and winter time, to avoid any disruptions that may arise from changing the clock during official workdays, and to give citizens and institutions ample opportunity to adapt to the new timing without affecting the regularity of work in government services and public and private sectors.
