Khaberni - The Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission revealed that the project to introduce composite gas cylinders, known as (plastic) cylinders, to the Jordanian market has reached its final stages, where final technical inspections are currently being conducted and the related infrastructure is being prepared in coordination with relevant authorities, in preparation for granting official licensing for circulation.
The Commission noted that it has not yet issued any license for the import or filling of these cylinders, pointing out that the grant of the license is based on the fulfillment of all regulatory and technical requirements adopted.
It also mentioned that the use of these cylinders will be optional for consumers alongside traditional metal cylinders, and the user will not incur any additional costs as a result of this choice.
The Commission confirmed that it will officially announce the date of circulation once all procedures and approvals necessary are completed, calling on investors and relevant entities to follow the procedures within the adopted regulatory framework.
