Jordanian Researcher Develops Local AI System for Protecting Sensitive Data

Khaberni -  In a technological achievement that highlights the presence of Jordanian skills in the field of cybersecurity, independent Jordanian researcher Jameel Al-Sha'er has managed to develop a comprehensive security system based on artificial intelligence that operates entirely offline, aimed at protecting sensitive data for vital sectors such as hospitals, banks, and government departments from the risks of leakage.

This innovation came in response to the increasing concerns about using cloud-based AI applications within sensitive work environments, where Al-Sha'er developed the "Cyphie" application, an AI agent that operates without an internet connection, ensuring complete data sovereignty and reducing the possibilities of hacking or leakage.

The project did not limit itself to the application aspect but also included a research component, as Al-Sha'er documented his work through three initial scientific papers published on the "TechRxiv" platform, affiliated with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), which are currently undergoing peer review in international scientific journals.

The system includes three main components: a local encrypted application that prevents data retrieval even in case of device loss, a protocol to reduce the operating costs of AI systems while enhancing protection, and a software solution that addresses advanced security vulnerabilities preventing system control through hidden commands and via attachments.

Al-Sha'er confirmed that he has made the project’s programming codes available as open source, allowing experts and institutions to review their efficiency and benefit from them.
