Khaberni - The College of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Al-Ahliyya Amman University achieved a distinguished global accomplishment by winning first place in the “Mondial du Pain” global bread competition, held in Nantes, France, with the participation of an elite group of the best bakers from more than twenty countries around the world.
The Jordanian team was distinguished as the first all-Arab female team to participate in this competition since its inception, representing Jordan and the Arab world for the first time in the Mondial's history. The team's artistic works and creations, inspired by the Jordanian identity and national heritage and utilizing ingredients that represent the authentic flavors of the Jordanian cuisine, were admired by the jury and the audience.
The team won gold medals in various categories of the competition. Chef Mayssa Haseeba – a teacher and trainer at the college and the team supervisor – received a gold medal and the golden badge of the Global Bread Mondial in recognition of her high technical skill and leadership role. Chef Mariam Al-Rousan was awarded the golden badge of the Global Bread Mondial as the first Jordanian baker to receive this prestigious honor in the history of the competition. Meanwhile, student Hala Abu Jabara received a gold medal in the youth trainee category for her outstanding performance and creativity.
The College of Hospitality and Tourism Management at the university expressed great pride in this global achievement, which places the college on the global map of skills in the arts of bread-making and hospitality, reflecting the advanced academic and professional level of its training programs, reaffirming the university’s pioneering role in supporting creativity and empowering Jordanian and Arab women in international forums.
