Khaberni - The German airline Eurowings has announced the addition of Amman to its global destination network. Today marked the departure of its first flight from Stuttgart Airport to Amman at 7:15 AM, landing at Queen Alia International Airport at 1:15 PM local time.

The crew and passengers received a special welcome at Queen Alia International Airport, where the aircraft was greeted with a water salute by the civil defense, typically reserved for inaugural flights.

With this step, travelers from the capital of the Baden-Württemberg region will be able to head to Amman via two direct flights per week operated by the company on Mondays and Thursdays, at convenient daytime hours for travelers.

Eurowings relies on its modern Airbus A320neo aircraft for these flights, which are among the most efficient and quiet aircraft in the short and medium-haul category.

Reinhold Frankevitz, Head of Airport Relations and Network Operations at Eurowings, said, "We are extremely pleased to add Amman successfully to the Eurowings destination network. With this step, we expand our medium-haul destination list and bring the stunning tourist destination of Jordan closer to travelers, especially in southern Germany. As a vibrant and culturally diverse city more than 9,000 years old, Amman captivates its visitors with an appealing mix of ancient landmarks and modern lifestyle, along with distinctive hospitality. We are convinced that Jordan will attract many new visitors thanks to the ease of access and the close and trust-based cooperation with our partners in Amman."

This diversity makes Jordan an ideal destination for lovers of adventure, history exploration, and enchanting nature from all around the world.

On this occasion, the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Imad Hajjazin, stated that enhancing the air linkage between Jordan and other countries is a central axis in the kingdom's strategy to develop tourism, noting that Germany is among the largest markets for tourism in the European Union. He confirmed that launching the new route between Stuttgart and Amman via Eurowings enhances the cooperation bridges between the two countries.

He added that the new route facilitates not only the travel of passengers from southern Germany to Jordan but is also an achievement added to the successes of other operating lines, and it opens new horizons for cultural exchange, business travel services, and general tourism development.

Dr. Abdul Razaq Arabiyat, Managing Director of the Jordan Tourism Board, said that Germany is one of the most significant markets exporting tourism to Jordan, where it clearly contributes to increasing the number of visitors, confirming that launching the new route will enhance Jordan's presence in the German market and support ongoing efforts to make the kingdom more accessible to travelers from all over Europe.

He added that this step reflects the strength of the partnership with Eurowings and enhances Jordan's status as a prominent destination for lovers of culture, adventure, and authentic touristic experiences.

Nicola de Villiers, CEO of Queen Alia International Airport Group, welcomed Eurowings at Queen Alia International Airport, confirming it enhances efforts to expand the air connectivity network between Jordan and the key European markets.

He noted that Eurowings, as the budget airline of the Lufthansa Group, provides travelers with convenient and flexible options to explore both Jordan and Germany, enhancing the tourism and business travel movement between the countries, looking forward to building a strong and sustainable relationship with Eurowings.
