Khaberni - Representative of the fertilizer sector in the Jordan Chamber of Industry, Ahmad Al-Bas, said on Wednesday that the increase in fertilizer prices will not have a significant impact on local agricultural products.
Al-Bas explained to "Al-Mamlaka" that fertilizers contribute between 10% to 20% to agricultural production in Jordan, depending on the agricultural system. An increase in fertilizer prices by 10%-40% will not significantly affect local agricultural products.
He pointed out that Jordan is one of the countries that manufactures fertilizers, noting that farmers rely 80% on locally manufactured fertilizer.
He added that Jordan exports fertilizers to about 50 countries, confirming that the export of fertilizers will continue.
He noted the existence of about 75 factories in Jordan that manufacture fertilizers.
