Khaberni - In a new international achievement that is added to the Arab American University Oman's excellence record, students from the university's branch of the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE–AAU) won the "Best Social Media Campaign" award, as part of the activities of the AEE World Conference & Expo 2025, which was held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, with the participation of experts and researchers from around the world.
This honorable achievement fulfills the vision and mission of the Arab American University Oman in providing outstanding education and research to serve the community and meet the job market’s needs. It comes within their continuous efforts to enhance leadership and innovation in energy and sustainability fields. The award is a culmination of the student team’s efforts in designing and implementing innovative awareness campaigns on social media, aimed at spreading awareness of the importance of renewable energy and energy efficiency, promoting a culture of sustainability and community participation in environmental and developmental issues, especially during the period of welcoming new students.
This achievement comes with support and follow-up from Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widian, President of Arab American University Oman, and under the guidance of Dr. Anwar Al-Assaf, Dean of the College of Engineering, and under the supervision of Dr. Akram Musa, Head of the Renewable Energy Engineering Department, confirming the university's dedication to empowering its students to actively participate in international specialized forums in the field of sustainable energy. Representing the student branch in this success were: student Abdullah Abu Rabia, branch president; student Mahfouz Abu Hanieh, vice president; student Shahd Al-Sheb, Amniat Al-Sar; and student Rama Hossam, social media officer, while student Tala Al-Manasra, the branch's events officer, received the award on behalf of Arab American University Oman at the awards ceremony.
This global win embodies Arab American University Oman's commitment to graduating pioneering competencies capable of competing globally, solidifying its position as a leading academic institution in supporting excellence and innovation in the fields of engineering and sustainable energy, contributing to national development and envisioning a more sustainable future.
