Khaberni - The Ministry of Environment issued a draft of environmental and technical requirements for sorting recyclable materials from non-hazardous solid waste, aimed at organizing the sorting process from the source and encouraging recycling, reuse, and recovery of recyclables, which contributes to waste reduction and better resource management and less pressure on household waste dumps.
The ministry said that the instructions determine the sorting mechanism, the technical requirements for containers, and the responsibilities of waste producers and recycling service providers, in addition to the timeline for application and incentives granted to those who comply. This step represents part of the national efforts to enhance environmental sustainability and transition towards an eco-friendly circular economy.
