Khaberni - A poor Japanese truck driver in his sixties discovered that he originally belonged to a wealthy family, after more than six decades of living under harsh conditions, resembling the scenario of a classic Indian movie.
According to the website "ndtv", the story began in 1953 at the San-Ikokai Hospital in Tokyo when two babies were accidentally switched at birth, leading him to a life devoid of opportunities or wealth.
The younger siblings grew suspicious when they noticed the elder son’s behavior towards their father; despite his promise to take care of him, he put him in a nursing home.
They remembered their late mother speaking about mixing up clothes between children at the hospital, so they conducted a DNA test in 2009, and the results confirmed that the son was not their biological sibling.
After tracing their actual biological father, they discovered that he had lived a life full of challenges: he lost his adoptive father when he was two, and had to work part-time throughout high school in a home lacking basic amenities.
In contrast, the son who grew up in the affluent family lived a life filled with luxury and education and entitlement, even though he was not the rightful and actual heir to all this wealth.
The court judgment awarded the man 38 million yen in compensation, affirming that he was deprived of the life opportunities he was entitled to live, and that he will never meet his biological parents.
This story sparked global interest and raised questions about medical errors in old hospitals and their impact on individuals' lives.
