Taekwondo Team Adds Two Bronze Medals at Asian Games

Khaberni - The players of the national taekwondo team, Ahmad Rababa'a and Zeinab Basila, achieved two bronze medals today, Sunday, in the conclusion of the team's participation in the Asian Youth Games held in the Bahraini capital, Manama.
Rababa'a successfully won a bronze medal in the under 55 kg category, while player Zeinab Basila won a bronze in the under 63 kg category.
With these two medals, the national team concluded its participation in the competitions of the Asian Youth Games for youth with a total of 6 medals, (one silver and five bronzes).
Player Ahmad Rababa'a began his journey towards the bronze medal by defeating Indonesian Kaisan Rai after the latter did not show up on the mat in the round of 32, and in the round of 16, he won against the Thai player Falak Pongsakon with a score of 2-0, and in the quarterfinals, he won against the player from the Mongolian team, Enkhtaivan Anand, with a score of 2-1.
In the semifinal round, Rababa'a lost to the Kazakhstani player Yevgeny Vasinkin, achieving the bronze medal.
For her part, player Zeinab Basila won in the quarterfinal round against the Indian player Furaileibam Garlukshmi with a score of 2-1, before losing in the semifinals against the Iranian player Ghbalou Pinar with a score of 0-2.
The national team also participated in the mixed-team matches, where they lost the quarterfinals against the Chinese team.
