Khaberni - The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Kuwait, Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, announced the success of the Ministry of Interior in reducing the quantities of drugs that entered the country by 90% compared to last year, confirming that the ministry is waging a real war against drug traders who target the Kuwaiti society.

Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef said in a statement to journalists on the sidelines of the inauguration of the tenth wing in the Addiction Treatment Center after its rehabilitation with a donation from Kuwait Finance House that a new drug law will soon be issued, including severe penalties stating, "Anyone involved in drugs will bear what comes to them, and we will reach the execution of drug dealers."

He added that the law represents a qualitative leap in protecting society and preserving its security and stability, expressing his thanks and appreciation to the personnel of the General Department for Drug Control for their great efforts and sacrifices to protect the nation from the scourge of drugs.

Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef expressed his pride and pride in Kuwait's achievements in the field of combating drugs and treating addicts, confirming that what has been achieved is the fruit of integrated efforts between state security and health institutions and their continuous role in confronting this dangerous scourge.

In this context, he recalled that the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior received two awards from the Council of Arab Ministers of Interior in the field of drug control during a ceremony held at the council's headquarters in Tunisia, in appreciation of its efforts in combating this scourge at both Arab and international levels.

Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef praised the cooperation of parents, teachers, and all employees in governmental and private entities in reporting addiction cases and supporting national efforts in their treatment.
