Khaberni - The Israeli army said today, Saturday, that it assassinated a leader of the "Al-Radwan" force affiliated with "Hezbollah" in the town of Jibsheet, southern Lebanon.
The Israeli army stated in a statement that it launched earlier today (Saturday), a raid in the Jibsheet area, southern Lebanon, killing Zain Al-Abidin Hussein Fatouni, noting that the target was a "commander in the anti-tank missile unit" of the Al-Radwan force affiliated with "Hezbollah".
According to the Israeli army's claim, this leader was recently "involved" in efforts to rebuild Hezbollah's military infrastructure in southern Lebanon, and that "his activities constitute a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon".
The Israeli army affirmed that it will continue its operations to remove "any threat" posed to Israel, while a video clip of the assassination operation was published.
The Israeli occupation continues to violate the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon since it came into effect on November 27, 2024, where the Israeli army breached this agreement more than 4500 times, resulting in hundreds of deaths and injuries, while "Hezbollah" stresses its full commitment to the agreement.
This comes at a time when the Lebanese scene is experiencing significant tension, after Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam announced the army's task of developing a plan to limit arms to the state by the end of this year, while "Hezbollah" said that the government's decision to disarm the resistance is a "clear constitutional violation and we will treat it as though it doesn’t exist," affirming that maintaining Lebanon's strength is one of the necessary measures.
