Khaberni - During the "GITEX" exhibition in Dubai, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security in the UAE showcased an advanced car equipped with artificial intelligence technologies, designed for the detection of residency violations.
The Authority noted that the car project aims to support field inspection teams and enhance the efficiency of handling visa and residency violations immediately and safely, reducing dependence on traditional inspection methods, and speeding up the response to emergencies through automatic analysis of situations.
The car is equipped with six high-resolution cameras that provide complete coverage of its surroundings, with the ability to capture images and analyze faces within a range of up to 10 meters, identifying about 50 people within seconds through eye print matching with the systems of the Authority. The facial recognition system can instantly identify wanted individuals or those violating residency terms, alerting the teams to deal with them, with the possibility of paying fines on-site.
The car also allows the registration of eye prints for residents from the age of 15, in a step to enhance field surveillance and reduce violations through smart technologies.
During the exhibition, the Authority presented a practical demonstration of the car's operation, explaining that it is fully electric and environmentally friendly, with batteries enabling it to travel 680 km on a full charge. It is expected to enter actual service in 2026.
