Khaberni - Speaker of the House of Representatives Ahmad Al-Safadi left none of "all the mishaps that occurred, the mishaps that were produced, and the mishaps that some claimed to have existed" without bearing them, saying, "I bear the responsibility alone."

In a message to his fellow deputies, Al-Safadi said that during the past year of the council's term, he was at the helm "as if riding on worry," noting that the responsibility was great, and he suffered from the "harshness of hunting" and endured "bitterness from those who tried to belittle the scene and strip us of awareness," yet he bore all this.

He added, "Together, we have crossed a year in the life of the council. During this time, I served as the head of a constitutional authority, as a brother and listener striving towards the national good, and as a defender of all the principles and values of the nation and the great message of Jordan that we carried in our hearts.
My presidency of the council was not a personal ambition, nor a desire for elevation or to gain status - God forbid - but came by your will that was decided by the ballot, and I Khaberni to the decision."

Al-Safadi mentioned that he found in the prayers of his late mother a balm that healed the wounds of life, saying, "I grew up in the years of military and representation on national values, satisfied with what was decreed for me, believing in a leadership that is our pinnacle and the guarantee and salvation for this land, and now I reach a stage where I dedicate myself as a soldier for this nation, proud of what I provided, and I do not take blame in God for blame."

Al-Safadi continued, "All the mishaps that occurred, the mishaps that were produced, and the mishaps that some claimed to have existed, I bear the responsibility alone, and I know that my heart is filled with enough tribulation and sadness.
But what strengthens me is that there were successes we produced and a legislative authority that we maintained its presence and affirmed its power."

The Speaker of the House of Representatives confirmed that the independence of the legislative authority does not mean its detachment from the national project or from the vision of His Majesty the King and his faithful Crown Prince, saying:

"I tried hard for the voice in it to be completely Jordanian, so no voice is louder than the voice of Jordan, no party is bigger than the party of Jordan, and no allegiance is valid unless it is to the Jordanian soil alone."

Al-Safadi added that he reads daily the saying of the Almighty: "And your Lord is going to give you, and you will be satisfied," citing it as a source of hope and patience, confirming:

"I share the decision with you in the next phase, whatever you see my brothers and companions on the road I will execute, and I am not regretful of a past phase, but very proud of it.
Let them say what they say about Ahmad Al-Safadi, for in the end, I will become a corpse laid in the pure Jordanian soil, like my father, my people, my companions, and my leaders who passed in military service."

Al-Safadi concluded his message by saying:

"I have not broadcast love on a wavelength other than Jordanian, for the air of Jordan cured me and still the longing in my heart is Ammani, and I have not carried roles other than those befitting the legislative authority, and I am the poor servant to God who is honored by the allegiance to the throne that was its pulse and method.

Jordan is our homeland, and positions and roles perish, but what remains are the paths and memories.
And one day when we bid life farewell, perhaps a Jordanian from Jabal Amman, or a boy from Tafileh, or an old man from Karak, or a mother kneading patience and manhood for her sons in Irbid as all mothers in my nation,
perhaps they will all vindicate me when my memory passes and they say: Ahmad Al-Safadi was Jordanian... was Jordanian."
