Khaberni - A parliamentary source informed "Khaberni" that the discussion of the amended bill for the Social Security Law has been postponed, after experiencing popular and parliamentary pressures, with plans to continue its discussion in the next regular session.
The source speculated that broad parliamentary blocs would push for the postponement, accepting this proposal, amidst demands to reassess the proposed amendments to the law.
Four parliamentary blocs (Al Meethaq, Initiative, Union and Reform, Azm) met today, Sunday, in the House of Representatives, to take a stance on the amendments proposed to the bill.
The blocs confirmed in a statement their commitment to their proposals aimed at achieving balance to guarantee the interest of the participants and the continuity of the Social Security institution.
They pointed out discrepancies between the figures presented by the government and those presented to the committee, calling for the assistance of a neutral actuarial expert to evaluate these figures in a way that ensures the sustainability of the institution's financial position without imposing additional burdens on the insured.
The blocs also expressed their appreciation for the efforts of the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Parliamentary Labor Committee in managing the dialogues with the relevant parties to reach balanced amendments.
