Khaberni - Amazon has unveiled a new AI-powered feature called "Help Me Choose," aimed at helping users make quick and confident purchasing decisions by analyzing their browsing and shopping behavior.
The new feature integrates seamlessly into the shopping experience on the Amazon app for iOS and Android, as well as via the web, becoming a part of the suite of AI tools that the company has been developing for years.
A smart shopping assistant that understands you before you decide
"Help Me Choose" works by tracking search and browsing activities and purchase history, then suggests the most suitable products based on usage patterns, according to a report published by "TechCrunch" and reviewed by "Al Arabiya Business".
For example, if you are looking for a camping tent and have previously bought cooking tools or adventure shoes, the system will suggest a four-person tent suitable for all seasons.
Users can customize the price range they are interested in, or expand the options to see higher or lower-priced products.
Daniel Lloyd, Vice President of Personalization at "Amazon," said that the new feature saves time and builds confidence, as it uses artificial intelligence to provide accurate recommendations after the user has reviewed a large number of similar products.
Powered by Amazon's strongest technologies
The feature relies on a combination of generative artificial intelligence technologies from AWS Bedrock services, OpenSearch engine, and SageMaker recommendation system.
Amazon will gradually introduce the "Help Me Choose" feature to users in the United States before expanding globally later on.
A continued integration of artificial intelligence within the shopping experience
The new feature is part of a series of innovations that "Amazon" has introduced in the past two years to enhance the shopping experience with artificial intelligence, including:
- The smart assistant Rufus to answer users’ questions about products.
- Generative shopping guides for more than 100 product categories.
- Voice summaries of products and reviews.
- The Lens Live feature that allows users to point their phone camera at any real-world product to get similar suggestions on "Amazon".
