Study Reducing Sugar Consumption in Early Childhood Protects the Heart for Life

Khaberni - A study concluded that limiting sugar use in the first two years of life has long-term benefits for the heart up until adulthood, and the British news agency (BA Media) reported that experts found that people are less likely to suffer from diseases like heart attacks, heart failure, or strokes if they consumed less sugar during childhood, and if their mothers consumed less sugar during pregnancy.

In a study published in the British Medical Journal, researchers examined data regarding sugar rationing in the United Kingdom during wartime, and the team reviewed data from 63,433 individuals from the UK Biobank, born between October 1951 and March 1956, who had no history of heart diseases.

What are the health harms of sugar on the body? | MedicalThe study examined 40,063 people who were exposed to sugar rationing, which lasted from 1940 until 1953, and 23,370 who were not exposed to sugar rationing, as well as studied medical records searching for cases of heart diseases, heart attacks, arrhythmias, strokes, and deaths caused by these diseases.

Compared to those who were never exposed to sugar rationing, the rate of heart disease in those who restricted sugar use during pregnancy and in the first two years of life fell by 20%, the rate of heart attacks decreased by 25%, heart failure by 26%, atrial fibrillation by 24%, strokes by 31%, and cardiovascular diseases by 27%.
