Khaberni - The Beirut Court of Justice witnessed this morning the preliminary interrogation session of the Lebanese artist Fadel Shaker before the President of the Criminal Court, Judge Bilal Ad-Danawi, in the context of the lawsuit filed against him on the background of the Abra Saida incidents, which date back to 2013.

According to "ET بالعربي", Shaker arrived at the court at 8:30 AM amid tight security measures and a deployment of security forces around the Court of Justice, in anticipation of any emergency. The session was limited to procedural and routine measures, in preparation for the scheduled official trial on December 15 (December) next.

During the session, Shaker was asked a series of procedural questions related to his identity, the name of his representing lawyer, and whether he had faced any threats before the trial date, before being allowed to leave the courtroom immediately without any additional procedures.
Despite more than a decade passing since the Abra incident, the judicial file remains open, awaiting a final verdict, while Shaker has denied on several occasions his involvement in the acts of violence, affirming that his role during the events was "civilian and not military".
On the other hand, local media sources circulated news about the possibility of closing Fadel Shaker's file before the end of this year, in preparation for starting a new page in his artistic life. This summons comes after years of disappearance after being involved in cases related to arms dealing and charges indicating his involvement in terrorist acts in previous incidents.

Fadel Shaker turned himself in just weeks ago to a force belonging to the Lebanese Army Intelligence at the Al-Hisbah checkpoint leading to Ain al-Hilweh camp in Saida, where he was walking towards the checkpoint relaxed, untroubled, and talking optimistically to his companions, according to witnesses for "Reuters".
