Saddam Hussein officially runs for the Iraqi parliament

Khaberni - The board of commissioners of the Independent High Electoral Commission in Iraq decided today, Wednesday, to approve the nomination of Saddam Hussein Habib Abdel Naeemi, within the "Azm Iraq/Azm" coalition, with sequence number 1 in Kirkuk province, to participate in the parliamentary elections that will take place in Iraq on the eleventh of next month.

A statement from the Independent High Electoral Commission in Iraq mentioned that the board of commissioners held a meeting today, Wednesday, and unanimously decided to approve the nomination of Saddam Hussein Habib Abdel Naeemi, and to overturn a previous decision to exclude him, based on a decision by the judicial authority for elections.

The board of commissioners tasked the Operations and Information Technology Department and the Electoral Department at the Independent High Electoral Commission to lift the voice blocking on him and take the necessary actions.

The board of commissioners of the Independent High Electoral Commission in Iraq regularly reviews the status of the candidates, rectifies their legal statuses based on judicial decisions, responds to complaints related to the candidates, monitors campaign advertisements, and takes decisive actions and imposes financial penalties on violators.
