Returnees from the Middle East Universities as Beacons for Science Thought and Dialogue Enhancing Youth Awareness and Nationa

Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs Abdul Munim Al-Oudat emphasized that the Jordanian state is banking on the awareness of its youth, their ability to become future-makers, and ambassadors for the values of dialogue, moderation, and responsibility in their universities and societies. The universities must remain beacons of science, thought, and constructive debate, where differing opinions should lead to responsible dialogue that reflects the youth's awareness and their national belonging..

This was stated during his meeting with several students from the Middle East University at the event titled "Political Parties and Youth - Partnership for Change", moderated by media professional Professor Dr. Hani Al-Badri, in the presence of the university's Board of Trustees Chairman Dr. Yaqoub Nasser al-Din, University President Professor Dr. Salam Al-Mahadin, Member of Parliament Professor Dr. Tamara Nasser al-Din, and staff from both the academic and administrative bodies of the university..

Al-Oudat added that universities play a crucial role in shaping students' identities by providing them with necessary skills and knowledge, alongside their role in hosting various interactive activities and dialogue sessions, which positively impacts their personality development and readiness to play an active and significant role in public life. Investing in young people's awareness and belief in the democratic process is a guarantee for sustaining political reform and establishing citizenship values that form a solid foundation for building a modern state capable of facing challenges with confidence and stability.

Al-Oudat pointed out that the comprehensive modernization project led by His Majesty King Abdullah II forms an integrated national framework that enhances political participation and youth empowerment, and that the political modernization came to give young people greater space for participation, expression, and organized programmatic work, reinforcing the concept of Jordanian national identity that unites Jordanians around the principles of belonging, loyalty, and rule of law, which are the main pillars of the state..

Speaking on the role of media in fostering a real awareness among youth, Al-Oudat mentioned that the role of modern media is crucial in enhancing political and partisan participation amid the digital media revolution, as youth are now more capable of expressing their opinions and aspirations regarding various issues from across the kingdom. He emphasized the necessity for young people to be fully aware in the face of challenges and attempts to doubt our country, which is vital for preserving our social fabric and national identity..

On his part, the chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Yaqoub Nasser al-Din mentioned that the outcomes of the Royal Committee for the Modernization of the Political System, which was sponsored and closely followed by royal patronage, represented a fundamental transformation in Jordanian political life, indicating that about 89% of the members of Parliament are partisans, a clear indication of the success of the emerging party experience.

He noted that the three paths of modernization; political, economic, and administrative, are strategically aligned towards building a modern, renewed Jordan capable of accommodating development requirements and transformation, adding that the political modernization project forms a comprehensive royal strategic vision for the state's second century, considering it one of the fundamental paths of modernization desired by His Majesty King Abdullah II. He pointed out that His Majesty has given this project exceptional attention and direct care from the moment the Royal Committee for Political System Modernization was formed, a matter that requires protecting this pioneering national experience from the factors of frustration or attempts at skepticism..

The session concluded with an extensive dialogue between Minister Al-Oudat and the students, addressing youth issues, political participation, the concept of a programmatic party, and the prospects of democratic reform, where the students expressed advanced critical views and intellectual propositions, demonstrating a high level of national maturity and responsible political awareness..
