Khaberni - The Ministry of Water and Irrigation / Water Authority stated that its staff in the Internal Control Unit and the Directorate of Water Basins and Central Workshops, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior / Balqa Governorate and the Public Security personnel - West Balqa Police and Gendarmerie forces, seized a non-compliant excavator in the Ghor Al-Kafrain / Al-Maghtas area, hidden inside one of the farms conducting unauthorized excavation operations as part of ongoing inspection campaigns to enforce control over water resources, which are carried out by inspection teams related to the control unit in all regions of the Kingdom.
In detail, the Water Authority stated that based on information from the field teams on October 3, 2025, reports indicated the presence of unauthorized nighttime digging in the area, which was followed up and found to be hidden during the day inside one of the banana farms owned by a former deputy's brother, who was present with several armed individuals extracting it for nighttime operation. A security campaign was organized with the West Balqa Police Directorate to raid the site and seize the excavator at the Directorate of Central Workshops affiliated with the Water Authority and organize the necessary reports for the incident to complete the investigation and enforce the law.
The Water Authority confirmed that its campaign continues to monitor and remove any violations, expressing its gratitude for the constructive cooperation from the West Balqa Police Director and the management and gendarmerie staff, supporting the water crews to enable them to perform their duties.
