Khaberni - The Cabinet decided in its session held on Wednesday, chaired by Prime Minister Jaffer Hassan, to approve the exemption of the Olympic Committee and all affiliated Jordanian sports federations from the sales tax due on their revenues from sponsorship and marketing contracts, television broadcasting rights sales, and match ticket sales proceeds.
The decision follows up on the decision made by the Cabinet in August last year, to exempt the Jordan Football Association from sales tax on its revenues from sponsorship and marketing contracts, television broadcasting rights, and match ticket sales proceeds; following the visit by Prime Minister Dr. Jaffer Hassan to the Jordan Football Association.
Today's Cabinet decision included the recognition of the sports nature of donations paid to the Jordan Olympic Committee and all affiliated Jordanian sports federations, allowing any person to deduct donations paid within the Kingdom to the Olympic Committee from their taxable income, in accordance with the terms set out in Income Tax Law No. (34) of 2014.
The decision is part of the ongoing government support for the progress of the sports movement in the Kingdom in light of the recent achievements, foremost among them the national football team's qualification for the World Cup finals in 2026.
