Khaberni - The tenth night of the Saudi Falconry Club Auction 2025 was held, organized by the club at its headquarters in Malham (north of Riyadh), coinciding with the annual molting season in the Kingdom, which spans from October 1st to November 30th next.
The night witnessed the sale of three falcons for an amount of (399) thousand Riyals. It started with a Shaheen chick, sofaniyah molt, for four tiers, and it was sold for (121) thousand Riyals. This was followed by the second falcon, a Shaheen chick, Naqirah molt, for five tiers, sold for (87) thousand Riyals. The final sale of the night was a Shaheen chick, Jazan molt (Al-Suwarim), for five tiers, where the bidding started at (50) thousand Riyals before it was eventually sold for (191) thousand Riyals.
The Saudi Falconry Club auction is limited to migrant Shaheen sea falcon chicks, with a commitment not to auction Shaheen adults and free falcons in order to preserve their sustainability. The club offers a variety of facilities for falconers, including transportation and accommodation services, sale documentation, as well as broadcasting the auction on television channels and social media platforms, and allocating prizes for the tiers at the conclusion of its nights, in support of this authentic hobby and its economic and social development.
The auction is a major destination for local molting falcons, it reinforces the cultural identity of the kingdom, transfers falconry expertise to new generations, and serves as an economic resource for hundreds of participants involved in it.
