Khaberni - The developmental road of Amman (Highway 100), which connects Amman to Zarqa in eastern Jordan, saw the demise of dozens of dogs run over due to their frequent crossing of the road in an open desert area where dogs are prevalent.
The danger of this phenomenon is not limited to the deaths of the dogs, but it also poses a real threat to the safety of drivers, as attempts to avoid the sudden appearance of animals lead to serious traffic accidents, especially on a freeway like Highway 100. Additionally, collisions with dogs cause significant damage to vehicles, resulting in further financial losses for drivers and increasing the risks of driving on this vital road.
According to eyewitnesses for "Khaberni", the dogs cross through openings in the concrete barrier on the road, particularly in areas designated for the installation of light poles.
These openings were previously covered with iron plates, but scrap collectors have removed and stolen them, creating large gaps used by dogs to cross to the opposite side.

The sides of the road have turned into a grim scene with the bodies of dogs that are repeatedly run over, amid the absence of any effective solutions or maintenance of the existing gaps.

Citizens are calling on the relevant authorities, led by the Ministry of Public Works and the Greater Amman Municipality, to reinstall the missing barriers and secure the road in a way that reduces animal fatalities and protects traffic safety.
