Tips for Maintaining Prostate Health

Khaberni - The German Association for Urological Surgery states that prostate health can be maintained by following a healthy lifestyle based on:

- Proper nutrition: Men should focus on plant-based products and limit the consumption of animal-based foods. It is advisable to prefer white meats (such as turkey or chicken) when consuming meat and reduce the intake of smoked and salted sausages or avoid them altogether. It is also recommended to increase the intake of vegetables and fruits and to choose whole grains instead of white flour products.

- Consistently engaging in exercise and physical activities (preferably daily)

- Quitting smoking

The association noted that following a healthy lifestyle does not prevent prostate problems, as there are other risk factors that cannot be influenced such as aging (starting from age 40) and genetic predisposition.

 

Symptoms of Enlargement

Therefore, men should be aware of certain warning signs indicative of prostate enlargement, including urinary problems such as weak urine flow, nocturnal dribbling, and frequent urination.

It is worth mentioning that the prostate is a gland about the size of a chestnut located below the bladder and surrounds the upper part of the urethra. If it becomes significantly enlarged, it presses on the bladder and narrows the urethra.
