Khaberni - Samsung and the AI company "Perplexity" announced on Tuesday their collaboration to bring the startup's AI search engine to Samsung smart TVs.
The rollout of the smart browser application for Samsung TV models of the year 2025 started today.
Samsung will add the application to TV models of the years 2024 and 2023 later this year through a remote update, according to a report by "Engadget" specializing in technology news, as seen by "Al Arabiya Business".
As part of today's announcement, "Perplexity" will also offer 12-month free subscriptions to its "Pro" package. To take advantage of the offer, the user will need to scan the QR code displayed inside the new app.
"Perplexity" is an AI-powered search engine. Before AI companies such as "OpenAI" and "Anthropic" added similar search capabilities to their chatbots, the Perplexity browser was novel, as it allowed users to search the web more deeply than "Google" allowed at that time.
The competition has increased in recent months, with "Google" moving towards AI integration in search.
However, the Perplexity browser remains a different experience. The company's application on Samsung TVs allows users to type their questions or ask them verbally.
