AlAhli and the Orthodox Apologize for Not Participating in the Basketball League

Khaberni - Today, Tuesday, Al-Ahli and the Orthodox basketball clubs officially announced their apology for not participating in the 2025 premier league season, via official letters addressed to the Jordan Basketball Federation.
Al-Ahli stated in a statement that the decision came after studying a number of administrative and technical observations, pointing out the absence of a professional vision and the financial challenges facing the clubs, in addition to the impact of increasing the number of foreign players on the opportunities for local players to participate, and the necessity of revisiting the mechanisms for developing age groups and organizing competitions.
The club's Secretary-General, Dr. Abdullah Shafaqoj, confirmed that the club will continue to support Jordanian basketball whenever a fair professional environment is available, contributing to the stability and development of the game.
For its part, the Orthodox club informed the Jordan Basketball Federation of its official apology for participating in the upcoming season without disclosing additional reasons, limiting communication according to the official procedures adopted.
The federation is expected to announce its final arrangements for the new season in light of recent developments.
