Khaberni - Last Friday in Washington, the "Alliance for the Future of Peace and Security" was established, and Moroccan Mohamed Al-Aboush was selected as a member. This is a prestigious international coalition led by the American Alliance for Peacebuilding (AfP). This appointment comes at a time when there is an increasing need for visions and expertise capable of transforming the course of international tensions towards dialogue and stability, a step that reflects international recognition of Moroccan competence in the field of peace and security.
A global alliance to promote a culture of peace
The alliance includes more than 150 experts and international institutions working to enhance global stability through preventive diplomacy, collaborative research, and collective advocacy. It was established to address the growing challenges associated with conflicts and fragility in various regions of the world, based on a vision of collective action and sectoral coordination to achieve sustainable peace.
By joining this international initiative, Mr. Mohamed Al-Aboush puts his expertise in service of a network that seeks to transform peacebuilding from a marginal field to a central strategic axis in the security and sustainable development system.
A qualitative gain for Morocco
This appointment is an important gain for the Kingdom of Morocco, as it enhances its diplomatic presence and credibility as an influential actor in regional and international peace issues. Morocco, which has cemented its position as a mediator in a number of regional crises, finds in this step a new platform to demonstrate its balanced approach to conflict prevention and dialogue promotion.
Mr. Mohamed Al-Aboush's membership also enables the Kingdom to participate in the formulation of international policies related to peace and security, and to showcase the Moroccan experience in regional stability, especially in the Middle East and conflict and tension areas in Africa.
This step opens prospects for cooperation with international organizations and research centers, contributing to the development of national capacities in mediation, capacity building, and crisis management, alongside expanding partnerships with financing, research, and training institutions.
At the heart of global challenges
This alliance is part of the institutional development strategy launched by the AfP organization, aimed at making peacebuilding a third parallel pillar to security and development. The alliance operates through specialized groups in preventing mass atrocities, combating violent extremism, empowering youth, and building digital peace, focusing on exchanging expertise and field innovation.
An escalating impact on international agendas
This appointment coincides with a critical stage where the alliance aims to play a multi-party bridge role between governments, civil society, and research institutions, in preparation for United Nations initiatives on peace and security for 2025, and for upcoming international meetings, including the ministerial meeting in Berlin on peacekeeping.
Under the slogan "United for Peace" launched this year, the alliance aims to make peacebuilding a measurable indicator in international responses to crises, and in policies for conflict prevention and democratic resilience strengthening
Towards a renewed Moroccan vision
By joining this international coalition, the global network of experts is strengthened with a Moroccan expertise well-recognized in the fields of mediation and institutional reform. With this step, Morocco solidifies its position as a key player in the engineering of regional and international peace and stability, and an active contributor in shaping a more balanced and humane global vision for our shared security future.
