Khaberni - In a qualitative operation conducted by the Anti-Narcotics Branch in the Damascus countryside, in collaboration with the Directorate of Internal Security in the Ad-Dumayr area, an attempt to smuggle about 12 million Captagon pills was thwarted. The pills were securely hidden within a shipment prepared for smuggling out of Syria, while media sources indicated that their destination was Jordanian territory.

The Director of the Syrian Anti-Narcotics Administration, Brigadier General Khaled Eid, confirmed that the operation was based on precise intelligence information, resulting in the arrest of the network's leader, while efforts continue to pursue the other involved parties.

Eid explained that the quantity was confiscated in preparation for its destruction, and the arrested individual was referred to the competent judicial authorities for the necessary legal proceedings.

This operation is part of a series of intensive efforts made by the Syrian authorities to combat smuggling operations and curb the spread of narcotics, especially across the southern borders.
