Trump I dont think Ukraine will win the war

Khaberni - US President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he does not believe Ukraine will win its war with Russia, but anything could happen.

Trump added at the White House: "They can win it. I don't think they will, but they can still win it," according to Reuters.

This comes as Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio discussed by phone the arrangements for the upcoming summit in Budapest between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, both sides reported.

The US State Department Deputy Spokesperson, Tommy Bigo, stated that Rubio "emphasized the importance of the upcoming meetings as an opportunity for Moscow and Washington to cooperate towards reaching a permanent solution to the war between Russia and Ukraine."

Zelensky ready to participate
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had earlier on Monday expressed his readiness to participate in the anticipated summit between Trump and Putin if invited.

Zelensky told reporters: "If I am invited to Budapest, and if the invitation is framed such that we meet all three of us, or through shuttle diplomacy where President Trump meets with Putin, and President Trump meets me, then in one format or another, we will agree," according to France Press.

Meanwhile, he criticized the choice of holding the summit in Hungary, which has tense relations with Kyiv and is among the EU members most sympathetic to the Kremlin. He considered that the "Budapest" scenario would also not be positive.

On the other hand, the Kremlin noted that "it has no details" regarding Zelensky's participation in the meeting.
