Khaberni - State Minister for Public Sector Development, Engineer Badriya Al-Balbisi, received today, Monday, in her office at the Prime Minister's House, the Syrian Minister of Administrative Development, Mohammad Hassan Skaf, and his accompanying delegation, who is visiting the Kingdom to sign a memorandum of understanding between the Public Administration Institute and the Ministry of Administrative Development in the Syrian Arab Republic, and to explore the Jordanian experience in updating the public sector.
At the beginning of the meeting, Al-Balbisi emphasized the depth and strength of the fraternal relations between Jordan and Syria, and the mutual commitment to enhance cooperation prospects between the two brotherly countries in various fields, especially in public sector reform.
She also confirmed the government's readiness to exchange expertise and cooperate with the Syrian Ministry of Administrative Development, and to provide all support in developing the Syrian governmental apparatus, following the royal directives to support the Syrian government in its efforts to rebuild on foundations that ensure its unity, sovereignty, stability, territorial integrity, and the safety of its citizens.
Al-Balbisi reviewed the road map for public sector modernization with its seven components spanning ten years, within the framework of the state's modernization project launched by His Majesty King Abdullah II at the beginning of the second centennial of the Kingdom with its three political, economic, and administrative pathways, affirming that administrative modernization is a fundamental lever for both the economic and political pathways.
She indicated that the government conducted 8 follow-up sessions with experts and stakeholders and 4 sessions with the general secretaries in ministries and government institutions to evaluate the first executive program of the roadmap, and to benefit from their opinions and observations when setting the second executive program of the roadmap, which begins work next year and extends until 2029, explaining that the first executive program of the roadmap (2022- 2025) came to institutionalize its work, while the second program will be concerned with implementing the update on the ground.
Al-Balbisi pointed out that the government worked on creating a system for assessing the impact of legislation to ensure its economic and political impact on citizens, in addition to working on developing a map for assessing service centers in the Kingdom, which enhances the provision of the best services to citizens.
For his part, Minister Skaf emphasized the importance of enhancing bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries in various fields, especially in the exchange of expertise in the public sector in both countries, extending the deep-rooted fraternal relations between Syria and Jordan.
He praised the pioneering Jordanian experience in updating the public sector, looking forward to further cooperation and gaining expertise from Jordanian institutions working in this field, reflecting on building capacities and developing human resources in the Syrian public sector.
