Khaberni - A murder has shaken public opinion in the Kingdom of Morocco, where a policeman killed a woman with his service weapon and then attempted suicide.
Details reveal that Moroccan media stated that the Regional Judicial Police in Casablanca opened a judicial investigation on Friday to determine the circumstances and background behind a police officer's suicide attempt after he was involved in a deliberate murder using his service weapon.
An announcement from the General Directorate of National Security stated that, according to available information, the officer, who worked with the motorcycle brigade, committed premeditated murder using his service weapon against a woman he knew while she was with him in a private car.
The Directorate reported that authorities are investigating the case to understand the reasons and background of the crime to determine its true motives.
The same source added that when a security patrol intervened to apprehend the suspected policeman, he tried to flee and deliberately fired two shots, although no bodily injuries were recorded among the security personnel who conducted the intervention, before he tried to end his life by firing a shot that severely injured him in the head.
The Directorate indicated that the policeman was kept in the intensive care unit of the hospital in a critical health condition, while the victim's body was placed in the morgue pending medical examination.
According to the statement, preliminary data from the investigation suggested that the incident had emotional motives.
