Khaberni - Authorities in Bangladesh reported a massive fire today, Saturday, in the cargo hall of the main Dhaka International Airport, which forced the authorities to suspend all flights.
Minol Ihsan, an official at the Health Directorate, reported that at least four people were transported to the hospital after sustaining minor injuries.
The fire did not damage the main airport building, but dense clouds of black smoke rose above the runway. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
The spokesperson for the fire service, Talha bin Qasim, said that 37 fire units were fighting the fire that broke out in the afternoon, which later required reinforcements from security forces.
The state-owned Bangladeshi airline "Biman" diverted four of its flights - scheduled to land in Dhaka - to airports in Sylhet and Chattogram.
