Khaberni - The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Potash Company, Engineer Shahadah Abu Hudaib and the CEO, Dr. Maen Nsour, received the Canadian Ambassador Louis-Martin O'Meigh and the Australian Ambassador in Jordan Bernard Lynch during a field visit to the company's site in Ghor Al-Safi. The ambassadors learned about the nature of the company's work, its prominent projects, future plans, and its leading role in the global fertilizer market.
The ambassadors listened to a presentation that covered the company's journey, achievements, industrial development, and its status in the global fertilizer sector. Additionally, it provided a brief overview of its expansion strategy and production diversification. The visit also included a field tour of the company's plants and various facilities. During this, the guests examined the operational processes, technologies utilized, and the research and development laboratories. They expressed their admiration for the level of efficiency and commitment to quality, environmental, and occupational safety standards.
During the meeting, Engineer Shahadah Abu Hudaib emphasized the deep relations that link Jordan with both Canada and Australia. He noted that this visit reflects the interest of friendly nations in the experience of the Arab Potash Company and its economic role. He added that the company serves as a national model for successful industrial investment, actively contributing to the national economy through its exports and expansion projects that meet the requirements of the global markets. He also mentioned the company's plan to invest in renewable energy through projects generating electricity from solar energy, in line with the company’s directions towards achieving environmental sustainability and efficient resource usage.
In his turn, the CEO of the Arab Potash Company, Dr. Maen Nsour, welcomed the ambassadors to the company’s site, affirming that their visit reflects the increasing international appreciation for the role of the Arab Potash Company and its status as a major contributor to global food security. Dr. Nsour added that the company continues to execute developmental and investment projects that enhance its presence in the global markets, through the diversification of its products and the adoption of the latest industrial technologies in manufacturing, research, and innovation.
He explained that the Arab Potash Company is proceeding with a comprehensive expansion plan that extends until 2034. It includes increasing the production capacity of potash to about 3.7 million tons annually through new projects in the southern and eastern pans, in addition to constructing a granular potash factory and another for cold crystallization, and developing processing industries that complement the industrial value chain.
The ambassadors praised the advanced level of the company’s industrial infrastructure, noting that the achievements of the Arab Potash Company reflect the maturity of the Jordanian industrial experience and its ability to compete globally. They expressed their countries' desire to enhance cooperation with Jordan in the fields of mining, clean technologies, and specialized fertilizers.
This visit comes as part of the Arab Potash Company's commitment to building bridges of cooperation with friendly countries and enhancing its international presence in the fertilizer sector, supporting Jordan's position as a leading industrial destination, and contributing to its role in meeting global food security needs.
