UNRWA Resume education for 300000 students in Gaza on Saturday

Khaberni - The media advisor for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees "UNRWA", Adnan Abu Hasna, stated that the agency has established plans to resume the educational process on Saturday.

Abu Hasna explained that about 300,000 students will resume their education at UNRWA schools, and the number is expected to increase; about 10,000 students will receive face-to-face education, while the majority of students will receive remote education.

He mentioned that 8,000 teachers will be involved in this process.

Regarding the humanitarian situation in the sector, Abu Hasna clarified that the war on the sector continues in other forms despite the ceasefire last week.

He stressed the need to sufficiently bring in aid to the sector to combat famine, noting that the current process of aid delivery is insufficient.

He mentioned that there are 6,000 trucks containing food supplies sufficient for the sector for three months, and that there are many shelter supplies Israel does not allow to be brought in, including blankets, mattresses, winter clothing, and medicines.

He observed that what is happening in the sector is a breach of international humanitarian law.

He pointed out that there are 5 crossings to the besieged sector, and if Israel wished, it could allow a thousand trucks in within 10 hours.

He noted that the process of bringing in minimal aid increases suffering, and that 95% of the sector’s residents rely on humanitarian aid due to the loss of their livelihoods.
