The head of the Palestinian Writers Union, Murad Al-Sudani, presented President Abbas with the African Writers Union Medal and an honorary certificate, on behalf of the union's president who represents more than 52 writers’ unions across the African continent.
During the meeting, Al-Sudani updated President Abbas on the cultural situation of Palestinians in the homeland and the diaspora, and the challenges faced by intellectuals and writers in their battle to root the history and deep-seated culture of Palestine. He also emphasized the importance of the global cultural front, which has succeeded in attracting prominent global cultural figures to support the just Palestinian cause.
